H&M South Branch Opening

The first store called Hennes opened in 1947 in Sweden selling women’s clothing. In 1968, the name was changed to Hennes & Mauritz after the founder Erling Persson bought Mauritz Widforss which was an equipment store. In the same year, they started selling men and children’s clothing. With the company’s success, they opened in London, Germany, Netherlands, France, New York, Spain, Middle East, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Japan, Russia, Beijing, South Korea, Turkey, Israel, Romania, Croatia, Singapore, Morocco, Jordan, Bulgaria, Latvia, Malaysia, Mexico, Chile, Estonia, Lithuania, Serbia, Indonesia and in the Philippines just last year. H&M has collaborated with designers like Karl Lagerfeld, Versace, Alexander Wang, to name a few.

The brand has finally opened its doors in SM Southmall last Thursday after years of waiting for a branch nearby. It’s one of the go-to shops for my sister and I when we’re out of the country and I’m glad they have expanded here in Manila already. Just like in every H&M opening, people lined up very early to witness the event and were given special prizes from H&M and here are some photos I took that day. 🙂

The Balmain collection is coming to H&M Megamall on Nov. 5 and I’m pretty sure that you can’t wait to get your hands on the blazers and jackets after watching their sneak preview! Can you guess where the 2nd South branch will be?

Visit them on Facebook for more updates!
